Merry Christmas!

We trust you are experiencing the fullness of God's blessings this season and hope to hear from you soon. Please allow us to bring you up to date on the Hixson family.

God added another immeasurable blessing to our lives this year. Faith Anne was born at 11:40am on September 30. With a sweet temperament and bright blue eyes, she brings joy to all of us.

Landry (2) has gone from baby to big brother in the blink of an eye. His playful sense of humor often has us laughing.

He's attempting all sorts of words and phrases now. "Ball"; "There it is! See it? Right there."; "My Baby-hold it"; "I want Milk"; and "Up please" are some favorites. He also loves singing his own versions of Old McDonald, the ABC's, and Jingle Bells.

Morgan (4) is very imaginative. He currently prefers the roles of knight or pirate because they involve sword fighting. He took summer swimming lessons and even conquered the "big" diving board. Other adventures have included learning to ice skate, bike and scooter riding, outside play and visiting grandparents. On the go, he's a faithful PT "Cruiser!" and VW "Beatle Bug!" spotter.

Brooke (7) is our reflective encourager. She likes selecting cards and gifts for others and takes great pleasure in meticulously wrapping them. She is very considerate of others' feelings and constantly chooses to forfeit her rights to bring someone else a smile. She is typically found helping with Faith, her brothers, and household chores, especially cooking or gardening.

Bethany (9) is passionate about animals, music, and books. She has responsibility for our dog and two cats and ably performs dog sitting duties for the neighbors. She frequently petitions us for fish, frogs, lizards, a bird.with varying success. She still loves playing the piano and singing. She stashes books everywhere to make sure a good story is always close at hand.

The oldest girls stayed busy with ice skating lessons, Patch the Pirate Club, swim team, and plays at Grace Bible. They're currently enjoying art classes, horse riding lessons, and church choir.

Wendy delights in having a baby around the house. She is happily juggling homeschooling, field trips, church outings, chauffeuring, and occasional computer programming. She's convinced God created internet shopping, 24-hour Wal-Marts, and extended doctors' hours just for her! J

J.B. is continuing his Ph.D. studies at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. He is scheduled to take his comprehensive exams this summer and to begin his dissertation in the fall. As the Assistant Academic Dean at the College of Biblical Studies, he is responsible for four departments: Admissions, the Registrar, Information Technology, and Baccalaureate Programs. He continues his preaching and teaching ministry at Grace Bible Church . This year, he also assumed the duties of overall church administration in the expanded role of Associate Executive Pastor. He has launched a website, www.hixson.org , to provide instant access to his theological writings and other resources. It is a great way for those outside of Houston to keep up with J.B.'s ministry.

We thank God for His gift of grace and for the privilege of being called His children. We wish you all the best this Christmas!
